Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival in Medan – Transfer to Bukit Lawang

Welcome to North Sumatra. Upon arrival at Kualanamu International Airport, your guide will meet you and transfer you to Bukit Lawang. Enjoy a scenic drive through local villages, rubber plantations, and palm plantations before checking in at your accommodation. Spend the rest of the day relaxing beside the Bohorok River and preparing for your jungle adventure.

Day 2 – Full-Day Orangutan Trekking in Gunung Leuser National Park

After breakfast, begin your unforgettable jungle trek through Gunung Leuser National Park. Search for wild Sumatran orangutans while your guide introduces you to the rainforest’s incredible biodiversity. Along the way, you may encounter Thomas leaf monkeys, long-tailed macaques, gibbons, hornbills, monitor lizards, and many tropical birds. Enjoy a freshly prepared lunch in the jungle before ending the adventure with an exciting traditional river tubing experience back to Bukit Lawang.

Day 3 – Jungle Exploration and Village Experience

Enjoy another day exploring the rainforest on different trails, visiting hidden viewpoints, waterfalls, and untouched jungle. Learn about tropical plants, medicinal herbs, and rainforest conservation from your experienced guide. In the afternoon, explore Bukit Lawang village, meet local people, or relax by the river.

Day 4 – Bukit Lawang to Tangkahan

After breakfast, travel to the peaceful rainforest destination of Tangkahan. Cross traditional suspension bridges, enjoy beautiful jungle scenery, and visit the famous natural hot springs. Relax beside crystal-clear rivers surrounded by the untouched rainforest of Gunung Leuser National Park.

Day 5 – Tangkahan Exploration – Transfer to Berastagi

Spend the morning exploring Tangkahan with short jungle walks, river activities, and opportunities to enjoy the peaceful natural surroundings. After lunch, continue your scenic journey to Berastagi, a mountain town famous for its cool climate, fertile volcanic landscape, and colorful fruit market.

Day 6 – Berastagi Highlands Tour

Early in the morning, enjoy an optional sunrise trek to Mount Sibayak for spectacular panoramic views. After descending, visit the lively Berastagi Fruit Market, Gundaling Hill, traditional Karo Batak villages, and local farms producing fresh fruits, vegetables, and flowers. Overnight in Berastagi.

Day 7 – Berastagi to Lake Toba

Leave Berastagi after breakfast and stop at the magnificent Sipiso-Piso Waterfall, one of Indonesia’s highest waterfalls. Continue through scenic mountain roads overlooking Lake Toba before boarding the ferry to Samosir Island. Check in to your lakeside accommodation and enjoy a relaxing evening.

Day 8 – Discover Samosir Island

Spend the day exploring Samosir Island, the cultural heart of the Batak people. Visit Tomok Village, Ambarita Stone Chairs, ancient Batak King’s Court, traditional houses, local museums, handicraft markets, and scenic viewpoints. Learn about Batak history, customs, music, and local traditions.

Day 9 – Leisure Day at Lake Toba

Enjoy a relaxing free day on Samosir Island. Choose to cycle around the island, kayak on the lake, swim, visit local cafés, explore nearby villages, or simply relax while enjoying the breathtaking scenery of Lake Toba.

Day 10 – Lake Toba to Medan – Flight to Padang

After breakfast, return by ferry to Parapat before driving back to Medan. Depending on your flight schedule, transfer to Kualanamu International Airport for your domestic flight to Padang. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and enjoy a relaxing evening.

Day 11 – Padang to Mentawai Islands

Early in the morning, board the fast ferry to the beautiful Mentawai Islands. Upon arrival, check in to your accommodation and spend the afternoon relaxing on white sandy beaches, swimming in crystal-clear water, or watching a spectacular sunset.

Day 12 – Mentawai Island Adventure

Discover the beauty of the Mentawai Islands through snorkeling, island hopping, and exploring vibrant coral reefs. Visit traditional Mentawai villages to experience the unique indigenous culture, local crafts, and daily life of the Mentawai people.

Day 13 – Free Day in Mentawai

Enjoy a full day at your own pace. Relax on the beach, go surfing if conditions are suitable, paddleboard, fish, snorkel, or simply unwind in one of Indonesia’s most beautiful tropical island destinations.

Day 14 – Return to Padang

After breakfast, take the fast ferry back to Padang. Spend the afternoon exploring the city, tasting authentic Minangkabau cuisine, shopping for local souvenirs, or relaxing before your departure.

Day 15 – Departure

After breakfast, transfer to Minangkabau International Airport according to your flight schedule.
